Bought my tickets to the Tennessee Oregon game in September. It'll be my first game at Neyland Stadium in over 5 years. Big pressure on Dooley as this will be the weekend of my 50th birthday and a trouncing by the Ducks might put me into cardiac arrest!

My expectations for the season are reasonable. If he goes 6-5 it will be a success. Go Vols!

Who knows, by then half the Oregon team could be in jail.

Good luck, Ich. Hope this coach doesn't abandon the kids.

I don't think a multimillion dollar earning coach ditching a job where he took care of semi-pro 20 somethings is 'abandoning the kids'. Shitdick.

I do.

Speaking of novelty gifts, I bet you'd give anything to be like a chia pet.

Tennessee 50 UT-Martin 0

Derek Dooley's debut game was obviously a success. Tennessee did what they were supposed to do in beating the crap out of a much weaker opponent. Trust me, had Fulmer still been there, we would have won this game 21-10.

Dooley didn't run up the score. Only one touchdown came from a pass. All other TDs were on the ground with the only score in the 4th quarter being an interception return. Matt Simms, (Phil's son), did a serviceable job, but seems to have happy feet in the backfield and was overthrowing his receivers.

Next week, your Unca Ich will be in Knoxville to witness the Oregon game. Uh, Oregon beat New Mexico 72-0, so the Vols may have their hands full!

Welp, Mrs. Ich and I are off to Knoxville to celebrate my half century mark tomorrow and attned the Tennessee Oregon game this Saturday.

Will be hooking up with many school friends whom I'm sure are amazed that I'm still breathing.

Uh, they remember a wilder version of your Unca Ich than what you are used to seeing..... whispers: I was a bit of a drinker back then ;)

Yes, yes they did. However, we must take solace in the fact that we weren't supposed to be in that game to begin with. Had the Vols not let them get a 1st down on 4th and 14, the rest of the game never happens...

On a happier note, Mrs. Ich is very proud of me for not participating in the bar brawl at 3rd Base after the game ended. As usual, there always has to be the one opposing fan that gets too drunk and obnoxious. Trash talk is fine to a degree, but there are limits. Apparently, this old boy surpassed those limits with some of my fellow Vols after I left.

I tried to play peacemaker before I left. This sum bitch was at least 6'5" so had he come at me I already had the area of his throat picked out that I was going to punch. Fortunately, he had friends who were trying to keep the peace as well. Alas, I heard things went south quickly after I left.

3 personal fouls (should have been 4) in the last minute. Damn.

That Bray kid has a lot of talent, but he comes off as Ryan Leaf stupid.

So, Tennessee beat NC State convincingly at the Georgia Dome last Friday night though only being favored by 3 points. The defensive line contained the run and Dooley made the necessary adjustment in the defensive backfield to shut down NC state's air attack. Encouraging opening game.

Next up. Georgia State at Knoxville for the home opener. Georgia State got clocked in their first game by South Carolina State 33-6. Another tune-up game before our impending loss to Florida, though Florida looked spectacularly average against Bowling Green.

On a surreal note, a young man fell to his death at the Georgia Dome when he tumbled over the railing after a Tennessee score last Friday night. Turns out, he was the 20 year old son of two of my high school classmates.

Tennessee 51 GA State 13

Shaky start, but the Vols finally settled down and took care of business. Defensive secondary has got to tighten up and quit giving up the long pass.

Against my better judgement I'm getting my hopes up for next week's game versus the Florida Gators. Florida looked extremely average against Bowling Green last week and had all they could handle against ATM this afternoon. Next week's game is in Knoxville, so the moons must get in alignment.

Go Vols!

That's what they get for going ass to mouth (ATM).

The victory over King Cock Spurrier was sweet indeed! Especially after losing to the Bulldogs in such a heartbreaking fashion and knowing what is coming next Saturday against the Tide!

Coach Jones appears to be the real deal. Can't wait for him to find an SEC caliber QB in the near future.

Today the mighty Vols face The Crimson Tide of Alabama at Tuscaloosa... The Vols are 28 point underdogs. Though I'm not too overzealous to think that we will win this, I do think 28 points is too much unless Worley continually goes three and out and wears our defense down. Go Vols! Show up to play!

Ouch, babe. Overmatched

Overmatched in deed! We lost at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Tide athletes are far superior to what the Vols have starting.

Tennessee 27, Kentucky 14! That's right, Butch and the Vols are riding a one game winning streak heading into 2014.

Bring on those bitches from Utah State! :fist:
