Tennessee 63 WKU 7

Okay, granted; Western Kentucky University was a tune up game, but I'm pleased because Kiffin's Vols kicked the ever living shit out of WKU like you're supposed to, as opposed to Fulmer's Vols who would have won the game by less than 10 points and then only took the lead in the 4th quarter.

Our QB Crompton threw 5 TDs. They started him out slow with short passes on button hook patterns to increase his confidence before going to the timing routes. Our running backs ran wild. Hardesty had 160 yards and our freshman, Brice Brown had 104 yards.

Defensively, we were dominate.

Next week will be more telling as we go against UCLA before heading to The Swamp to play the Gators where we will get our asses handed to us because of all of Kiffin's trash talk over the off season.

It's going to be a fun ride! :fist:

UCLA 19 TN 15

:dep: Well Crompton got found out tonight! Our QB threw 3 interceptions and fumbled once.... Our defense did a good job of holding UCLA to only one touchdown and scored a safety.

Even with the turnover, we still had a chance to win, but got stopped on the 1 yard line going for it on 4th down.... No passing game really hurt us as UCLA discovered they could put 8 men in the box and Crompton would panic when he dropped back to pass....

Next week is Florida at the Swamp. Not going to be pretty!

28 points... The Vols are 28 point underdogs at the Swamp. Can there be a clearer indicator of how far the Vol Program has fallen???

The sad reality is, if we lose by ONLY 4 touchdowns tomorrow, I'll consider it a moral victory for Kiffin.

I'll also state this ahead of time. We Vol alumns gather at the sports bar to watch the game together. Invariably, some obnoxious Gator fan will wander in and start talking shit. Please monitor your cell phones tomorrow for text messages requesting bail money.

Florida 23 TN 13...

Not exactly the ass whoopin predicted, but a loss just the same. The defense played very well. Kiffin's game plan worked well in the first half by keeping the ball on the ground and running the clock, but we were hamstrung when we had to go to the air because Crompton just doesn't have it.

Kiffin would do well to go ahead and bench the 5th year senior Crompton now and play the junior Stephens for the remainder of the year. Stephens will have the start next year anyway, so Kiffin might as well give him game experience now.

Next week, Ohio

Tennessee 34 Ohio 23

This was a yawner of a game. The Vols took the opening kickoff snd drove down the field for a touchdown for the first time in two years. The good feelings were immediately erarsed by the fact that the ensuing kickoff resulted in a 95 yard touchdown return to tie the score.

Kiffin was determined to throw the ball. Unfortunately, Crompton wasn't up to the task and the Vols enede up running the ball for much of the second half. Also, lost our middle linebacker to a knee injury for the rest of the year.

Next week: Auburn at home. Feeling nervous already....

Auburn 26, Tennessee 22

Sigh

Tennessee's offense couldn't stay on the field. The Vols went three-and-out three times in the first half, and Crompton fumbled a snap at the Vols 30 on the first play of a first-quarter drive. The Vols converted only four of 17 third downs.

Sigh

Crompton managed to miss his receivers in every way possible: He overthrew, underthrew and hit them in the head and at the feet. He also didn't get any help from his targets, who dropped several passes that were accurately thrown.

Sigh

At halftime, Crompton had completed only four passes for 62 yards.

On the upside we catapulted Auburn into the Top 25 at 17....

Next week: Georgia

At halftime, Crompton had completed only four passes for 62 yards.

Post subject:  Re: The Kiffin Era Begins at Tennessee

Well, a new Tennessee Offense hit the field last night and scored 45 points on Georgia. It was a fun game to watch after some of the abortions we've had to endure the past few weeks.

Kiffin has stubbornly stuck with Jonathon Crompton at the QB and that paid of in spades last night. Crompton has the best game of his CAREER (He's a 5th year senior) He threw for over 300 yards with 4 TDs. He had one interception when he threw behind his receiver and it "tip-drilled" for a pick 6, but that was the only blemish on his night.

Defensively, we never allowed Georgia into the Red Zone. Their only offensive score was a 53 yard fg!

Their other 16 points came off special teams play and defense; Touchdown return on a kickoff, safety on a blocked punt and TD on an interception.

Like I said, a great game to watch, a truly needed SEC victory and cause for hope.

But, it's now time to tap the brake as It's only one game and our next opponent is Alabama! Fortunately, we have a by week in between, so hopefully we can continue this momentum and be prepared to face the Tide....

I LOVE SEC Football!

I can't stand the fact that my beloved Tennessee defense held Alabama to 12 points all on FGs and did not win the game. The only mistake the defense made was not scoring!

The Vols lost at Tuscaloosa 12-10. The Vols missed 47 yard FG in the 1st half and had 2!, Count'em 2 FGs BLOCKED in the 4th quarter - including the last play of the game!

My Ich heart cannot take this much longer!

Next week: Playing the SpurrierCocks!

Tennessee 31
South Carolina 13

Fun game to watch tonight. South Carolina self-destructed early by fumbling their 1st two possessions which led to Tennessee TDs. Our defense played well but gave up way too much in the air (300 yards),

Special teams are still a concern as we had another field goal blocked tonight!

Otherwise, all is good. Crompton had 2 TDs through the air with zero INTs. Hardesty got over 100 YDs rushing.
