They went small too long tonight. I know JJ was getting some shots to go down but when him and jet are in together it looks like a bee hive with all the over running and misdirection. There wasn't enough action in the paint. Tough loss. They gotta get the one on Sunday for sure and come back 2-2. |

I agree with Gam. I guess I disagree with you both then. The bigs weren't doing shit. Marion was back in his miss everything from 5 feet and closer mode and Butler was... I don't fucking know what he was but it wasn't productive. I felt JJ was a little exposed there for a bit when the third or fourth started, but he ended up hitting some crucial shots just minutes after I thought it was time to pull him. if they had stuck with marion and butler it woulda been a lot worse. But even in 2006 the small lineups were what killed the spurs. But I fucking hated all the jumpshots. And not to be a crybaby, but the officials sucked ass. there might be a reason the mavs are 1-17 when Crawford refs a mavs playoff game in the Cuban era. 1 and fucking 17. I think they need to start stevenson and play najera whenever Duncan is out of the game. Muck this shit up. I don't want to see a real center on the court unless he has the opportunity to foul the shit out of duncan. Maybe even start Butler at the three since he's got issues coming off of the bench. Shake things up. |

Terry wasn't hitting shit in the 2nd half and when he's not hitting shots, he's worthless. JJ was fine, but I didn't think he needed to play all 24 minutes of the 2nd half. I had no problem using them to get a spark. They gave the Mavs a 9 point lead. But the Spurs adjusted to it and that's when I thought the Mavs should have gone back to a more traditional lineup. At least Butler for Terry. |

It was great when they got the tempo of the game up and got SA on their heels, but you could tell when SA adjusted and it just turned into chaos... a whole lot of running and trying to create enough confusion to let the short guys get a clean shot. When they got shut down they should have been yanked. |
