Bascik's tweets about suicide if the Mavs don't get Deron Williams are pretty pathetic.

He just doesn't want to eat crow because he's been insisting on Twitter for a year now that the Mavs will get him. I was almost cheering for the Rangers to not sign Yu just so I could see him get hammered for being wrong. He's a total whip on Twitter and I stopped following him months ago.

Hearing Danny get all angry about the people who say that free agents might play here was golden. He is right, too.

:babyarm: and now people want to hold out for Paul next year? Please. Either re-load with good players and hope something works out or blow it up. Don't do these 1 year deals for washed up players to save cap room.

16 minutes after DW tweeted his decision, Chris Broussard tweeted that DW just texted him and he chose Brooklyn. He's taking some deserved shit.

Cuban thought that championship would get players to beat his door down trying to get in. Fact is when Dirk retires the Mavs will fall back into obscurity and will probably stay there for the rest of our lives.

At least Bacsik is maintaining some perspective. He's comparing this to the feeling he got when he was sent down to the minors. I guess that is the attitude and drive that leads somebody to stop goofing around in baseball and chase their dream of working for minimum wage as a producer on a sports station with no listeners.

Looks like the Mavs are bringing back Kidd on a 2 year deal. Sounds like they want to bring back the same team minus Terry and Odom.

There are plenty of good (not great) free agents under 30. Just because Dallas isn't going after them doesn't mean they're not there. Dragic, Batum, Hibbert, Hickson, Beasley, Mayo. Not all of these are worth what they're going to get, but you're not right, ever.

Mark Stein reporting Kidd is signing with the Knicks for the same years/money the Mavs were offering. Speaks volumes.

I wished Cuban was. :/

Kidd looked tired last season. I don't know how effective he'll be in the next two years but like dohicado said, him going to the Knicks is a slap in Cube's face.

I don't think Kidd is that big of a loss. 3 mil per as a backup is reasonable, but yeah, choosing NYK over Dallas says a lot.

It sure looks like Howard is going to the Nets. :banghead: Cuban is going to get run out of town. The owner of the Nets is willing to pay 107 million in penalties to get Howard. That is 2 to 4 times what Cuban would have had to pay to keep Chandler and Barea.

But Cuban still thinks he did the right thing. Wrong you idiot!!

I thought Howard opted for another year in Orlando? He's not going to make a decision until next summer.

He still won't be coming to the Mavs, though.

Post subject:  Re: Unofficial Mavs offseason thread

He's already requesting a trade after just opting in. He opted in so he could keep his Bird rights (and get a max contract) in a trade. I hope Orlando doesn't give him what he wants.

I understood DHo entertaining talk of going to NY or LA and not Dallas. But Houston?

It seems like there is something else going on here. Players don't want to come here but it doesn't matter because it seems like Cuban doesn't want to sign anyone any way.

Mavs trade Ian Mahinmi to Indy for Darren Collison and Dahntay Jones. Hard to hate this move. It seems the three acquisitions today are on 1 yr deals though, so I guess they're keeping the financial flexibility they love so much.

Also rumors about Elton Brand to Dallas.

Chris Paul, but if Williams, who loves Dallas more than most people, didn't want to come here, Paul won't either.

That guy is the guy the Mavs signed to a restricted FA contract yesterday.

Here he is in a bar with Mark Cuban and Diello. He's quite dreamy.

Nah, you guys traded for Tyler Zeller, but I don't see any signing of a white guy yet.

So... anyone else ready for 2015? :fist:

Musers were poo pooing on expectations with the new signings, but shit man, we got a couple of high profile free agents for once!

That segment was pretty frustrating. They (especially Junior) couldn't see past this coming season.
