Same. I still don’t think I’ve processed this yet.

My 11 y/o son and I watched 150+ games together this year. He’s been basketball/Mavs focused since he was sports conscious, but as he started to get really good at playing baseball, he started to get more into baseball/Rangers (2022). I can’t believe he gets to celebrate this in his 2nd year watching baseball while I had to wait forever, but it made it so much better to enjoy it with him.

I don’t think my emotions could handle sitting around and waiting for a Game 6.

I am envious of you, Somey. Glad you got to enjoy it with him.

I was 13 when they came here and couldn't understand why they were so bad back then. So many years they would start off well and then fade. Or they'd start off bad and fade worse.

My brother and I would suffer through my dad's stupid "you should just stick with the Cowboys" shit but we were more interested in the Rangers because it was baseball.

My brother is 61 and I'm 64. We have waited a long ass time.

No words. They should have sent a poet.

Newberg’s article this morning mentioning he didn’t get to watch with his dad or kids kinda hit hard. The timing of this was really fortunate for me. I spent a small fortune (and I let him know) to take him to game 1 and as we were walking back to the car, he told me he would take me to a WS game when he’s an adult. I pretty much lost my shit. Ok enough of that.

Leclerc’s option - yay or nay

My kid wasn't as into it as I thought she might be, but not watching games on TV over the last couple of years has probably cut into that. She's not really into any sports excpet for the ones she participates in and I don't let it bother me. My wife was into it and between that and watching with friends it was pretty awesome. I wasn't sure if I would get emotional, but Semien's on the field interview pushed me over the edge. I synced up with radio for the last couple of innings to hear Nadel's call at the end and went back and watched it with the TV audio an hour or so later and completely lost it. I'm a sucker for the pitcher and catcher celebration after the final out and Sborz and Heim did the trick.

I watched a lot of bad baseball as a kid and I kind of let my interest wane in the early 2000s. My brother invited me to opening day in 2007 and that jump started me back into it and I've never looked back. Can't say enough how surreal this is.

Given what they have locked up for next year, I say yes to Leclerc.

Not that I've cared for awhile, but this gives me enough of a high that I won't be bothered by the Cowboys and their January fart and fall down.
