Didn’t get off to a great start yesterday. It’s going to be a long year for Rangers fans. Taking Mrs. Ich out to the ballpark Sunday for our first game. Mike Minor on the mound. |

Mike Minor has some big time neckbeard going on. Maybe Ich could see it from the stands. |

JD made sure we won't get above 80 wins this year. His 20 year plan to kill the Rangers is starting to take shape. |

Tonight Bartolo Colon carried a perfect game into the 8th. But that's not the story here. The ex texts me and asks if I am watching. I am not. She then tells me I need to turn it on. Number 42 is doing great, she says. But he doesn't look like a baseball player, she says. He looks like one of the neighbors. I laugh to myself and think, it must be Jackie Robinson Day, and I wonder what Bartolo Colon is doing. |

Unfortunately, they still suck, dear Cap. When half the lineup is hitting under .200, there is some big-time goat blowing going on. Dammit. |

I didn't think he'd be worth the money, but I didn't expect that sort of disaster. Wow. |

Banny's out because he was too tough? wtf. I didn't necessarily like or not like him. I thought he was more of a players coach, so it's surprising to hear that he didn't connect well with the youngins. But was it not connecting with those kids that made the team terrible this year? Or was it because we gave away all of our ace pitching and put all of our hopes on a 45 year old fat ass? |

Do you think Banny would have been fired if he led the team to the playoffs? Whether JD likes him or not, if he would have won, he would have stayed. An old business saying is "Hire out of necessity, fire out of convenience." In this case, the team is bad, so getting rid of people you don't like is easy. |

If they would have made the playoffs, I doubt they'd be preparing for a rebuild with younger players, and if younger players are the reason he's being replaced (?), then whether or not he made the playoffs is irrelevant to this. I don't know if "JD doesn't like him" is a thing. Banny got the most out of the lamest slogan in the history of ever, so I'll give him that. I didn't hate him. I don't think any manager would have taken them to the playoffs and I don't think every manager in Banny's place would have gotten fired. Conjecture, but that's what we do around here. Or used to do. |
