I never understood why JD didn't go after Fister. I liked him when he was in Detroit (when he could have been had for a SONG) and cringed when he went to HOU. The guy throws about as hard as I do, but no one can hit him.

The streak is broken. Yu has "discomfort" in his shoulder. Beltre popped his hammy. Mitch and Prince can't hit their way out of .200. The season's over. :click: :urgh:

Nice Mitch! A two home run game makes you more attractive as trade bait... Keep up the good work.

Another series win, this time over Seattle. It ended in just horrible fashion for the M's with Cano getting thrown out at second by Mazara for the final out. And I loved it.

Here's a tweet that fits:

The Rangers have used the last three series to open a fresh can on the AL West.

I noticed that, too. Poor Buzz might need to retire pretty soon and take TAG with him.

Dave Barnett would have gotten it right.

Barnett would have said "Nabbed a plate from Mother's cupboard with caked on ever-readys!" or somesuch. Josh would have got it right, though.

Josh would've exploded in a fountain of cum if he called a game that ended that way.

Best 66 game start in Rangers history. With their best player only appearing in 3 games.

Colby is fangraphs worst nightmare. I was ready to write him off a couple of seasons ago too. I'm fine with giving him 1 year deals until he breaks. Or a 5 year, 100 million deal. Whatever it takes. His xFIP is still 2 runs higher than his ERA, but he belongs in the Rangers HOF, with greats such as Jeff Russell and Tom Grieve.

I thought they should have cut him 3 years ago and every year since because of his health but the dude is like a diesel engine. Weird, because I'm usually spot on with my observations and predictions.

Good baseball is good. Winning a game 1-0 is even better.

Lookie there, the Angels are 13.5 out. Meanwhile, Josh and C.J. keep cashing their checks.

Good thing, too. We obviously have an over abundance of pitching and desperately need to shore up our outfield.

Tate sucks and with Choo being out for who knows how long, yes they do. I don't hate the trade. Beltran is now probably the best or second best hitter on the Rangers.

With the deadline looming it doesn't look like we're moving Gallo or Profar. When Fielder was playing we were already having trouble figuring out how to play everyone.

I hope his bat stays hot. Rangers are gonna need to score a lot.

Post subject:  Re: Texas Rangers 2016

Dillon Tate is in class A and struggling. He's topping out in the high 80s. Beltran is a huge upgrade over whichever outfielder is not Desmond or Mazara. I don't love the idea of giving up a #4 pick for a rental though, but it looks like it was a bad pick more than anything.

Post subject:  Re: Texas Rangers 2016

Profar(Choo when he comes of the DL)- LF
Mazara- RF
Desmond- CF
Beltre- 3B
Beltran-DH
Lucroy – C
Odor-2B
Mitch- 1B
Elvis- SS

that's a nice lineup

I think Profar was looking forward to going somewhere where he would be the shortstop. I wonder if his game won't be affected by the disappointment.
