Buster Olney (ESPN) thinks Texas is baseball’s 23rd-best team and Jim Bowden (ESPN/XM) thinks Texas, “sooner than later” but at least by the July trade deadline, should move Adrian Beltre (to Washington) and Prince Fielder (to San Diego or Toronto) and Yovani Gallardo (to Boston) and Neftali Feliz and Shin-Soo Choo.

Whatever.

Hoob's take: looking back on some of Bowden's predictions in the past gave me fartlaugh.

How do people like this still have jobs?

It's amazing what 3 new starting pitchers will do.

Be honest. Did you think the Rangers were gonna be any good this year? No one else did, especially after Darvish went down. Prince was coming back from a major injury and Choo was looking like one of the worst contracts ever. Turns out everyone stepped up, but to predict everyone would do that would've been silly.

Honestly? After Darvish got hurt I thought Seattle or Oakland would win the division and Rangers would end up third in front of the Angels and Astros. Shows you how much I know beisbol.

Choo was okay last year before he got hurt. He wasn't pulling his weight the first part of the season but when everyone was talking "bust" it seemed like it was too early for that. All players go through slumps, he just needed a little time to get through his. Prince isn't living up to his contract but he never will.

My comment was a shot at Bowden recommending to blow the damn team the hell away. Seemed like a ridiculous knee jerk so early in the season.

It was most definately kneejerk, plus his confidence that they could so easily move a couple of big contracts (to small markets, too) is dumb.

I turned on the debate last night thinking I would watch that and be able to catch the last couple of innings of the game. wtf the debate lasted for 3 hours or someshit.

I'm going to the game tonight. I hope it's a Ranger's slugfest again but I don't think that usually happens 2 games in a row. :/

I hoped the magic number would at least be 3 after the weekend. Hopefully they can mop the floor with Detroit and Astros take a shit and let's get the playoff talk started already.

According to Steve Busby, the Angels are in the playoff hunt despite mediocre numbers because "they just know how to win."

Funny that Hamilton is the one who saved that big inning. Would have been fantastic if they had thrown Pujols out too. Angelswin.com loves David Murphy, hates Scioscia, Hamilton and Napoli.

I was shocked to see Tolleson out there for the 5th straight day, with a 4 run lead. Wasted Kela on 8 pitches. And Ohlendorf is a dumb name. Inspires no confidence with that name.
