Blake Beavan has been outrighted to AAA by the Mariners.

He was traded with Justin Smoak for Cliff Lee, and I whined about the Rangers giving up Beavan.

Another prospect that I was wrong about.

J.P. Arencibia is the DH tonight. He hit a home run, running his average up to .197. That'll be the only hit he gets all week.

If your DH is hitting .197, your team suckssssssssssssssssss.

This team is losing 115 games this year.

I went to the game Thursday night and the place was a tomb. It felt like I was at an August game in 2005. They're gonna get cock slapped by the Royals next weekend.

Even after paying $130 for the MLB package, I'm having trouble watching most games. Bad baseball just isn't fun to watch.

Why'd you pay for the package when all the Rangers games are free on local TV?

Only games on local tv are the Friday Night Baseball games on 21 and the occasional Sunday game on Fox. Everything else is FSSW.

I picked up a subscription to Hulu Plus when I cut cable. I already had Netflix so it doesn't count. I think I'm saving somewhere in the neighborhood of $60/mo.

That's cool. I wish we could get rid of ours, but we're just not ready yet. Mrs. Tit hasn't grasped the usefulness of Hulu yet for watching all her dumb major network shows. She also doesn't consider herself informed on the weather unless Pete Delkus himself tells her it's gonna be 100 for the next 7 days. And Netflix is becoming more and more useless, but I'll keep it for Orange is the New Black.

Fell us is alive and well in our house. I bought a $40 attic attenna that pulls in 80 or so local channels. That's 4 network channels and 76 channels of Spanish/Vietnamese/Hindu bullshit.

The only show I actually miss watching live is The Walking Dead. But I don't miss it enough to spend $60 a month.

Ok, I just now went over there to see if there was a "Wash cheated on his wife" thread. There was. Nothing to see, though.

Kinda silly that he quit just because he cheated on his wife. Something like 1/3 of US population does that.

That, or the sexual assault report has wings, and he's coming clean on his infidelity to get ahead of it since it's going to get out anyway. It would explain the lawyers. Kind of like David Letterman, but without the extortion since Wash still lives under a bridge and has no money.

Didn't he come up here in the wake of Katrina? I thought all those people got 40 acres and a mule or someshit.

Today I heard on the radio and saw on TV, the Rangers were advertising their Fan Appreciation day, which they commonly have at the end of the year.

The tone of the ad was, "We were horrible this year, but thanks for sticking with us."

I don't ever remember this happening in the other 30+ years that they have blown goats, but I don't have a big problem with it.

Guess I'm rooting for the WS to be Royals vs. Giants/Pirates winner.

Rangers fucked around and wound up with the 4th pick. Fuckers.

Post subject:  Re: Texas Rangers 2014 Only Official Thread

#1 pick barely matters. They still got a good one. You guys should be glad they actually got their shit together.

And I think we will see a freeway series with the Dodgers winning. Kershaw will lead the way. I'd rather see the Giants or Pirates, too.

I wouldn't mind Buck vs Mattingly.

I'd rather the Rangers have the single player they want in the draft than a few meaningless wins mostly by players who won't be around very long.

Post subject:  Re: Texas Rangers 2014 Only Official Thread

I've been a Rangers fan all of my life and I played for the Jacksox, so I've seen shitty baseball. Shitty baseball doesn't affect me. Fully healthy, I don't think they're the shittiest team in the league, so I'd rather think long term. Hell, it's conceivable a college pitcher could help them in 2015. I know you can't tell the players to lose on purpose, so I don't blame anyone. And I know MLB probably has the highest bust % of #1 picks, but I trust the Rangers scouting dept. Would have liked to have had pick of the litter.
