I want a Darvis bobble head too but I'm too lazy to wait in line. I'll just buy it off ebay for $300 the next day.

Something is wrong with his head. This is right up there with brown contacts or quitting tobacco in the middle of the season. I have a bad feeling about him this year.

While I find this story mildly disconcerting, I'm not worried. His brain is not addled by heroin, coke, steroids, and the jeebus like that other dolt.

He rattles easy though. That's my main concern. And I'm still not convinced he is a starting pitcher.

EDIT: In before diebond made fun of me for saying "starter"

His first year was great but in the second he lost several saves because he couldn't just overpower the hitter. They would make good contact and all of a sudden he couldn't throw anywhere near the plate. You could tell he was clueless as to how to regain control.

I didn't get to see too many of his games last year before he got hurt. I do remember his first outing was really solid (am I remembering right).

I hope I'm wrong about him.

Elvis Andrus got the tattoo in question, not Neftali Feliz who is currently out indefinitely recovering from TJ surgery. I know you think they all look alike but try and keep up.

I think Ian will go. He's the one that doesn't fit. He's morphing in to a PADMY but without the bat.

Post subject:  Re: Rangers 2013

I don't think Elvis will re-sign without hitting free agency first since he's basically said as much and Boris is his agent. I think it'd be way to risky to let Elvis get to free agency so therefore the best move is to trade him. They should have traded him for Jups when they had the chance, if they actually had that chance.

I'm not even sure I buy the "Feliz rattles easy" thing. The only time we've ever heard it was game 6 of the 2011 WS and that was only from Wash, who is known to embellish things to justify his moves. I think Feliz is just fine in the head. Not to mention "having a bad feeling" about a guy who just came of TJ surgery isn't really going out on a limb.

I can't even believe I just read that Kinsler is becoming another Padmy without the bat. What does that even mean?

I won't make predictions about who the odd man out is in the middle infield, because I have no fucking clue.

Post subject:  Re: Rangers 2013

I don't know why, but whenever I hear the name Elvis Andrus, Feliz's face come to mind. The wifey is always correcting me on it. I showed her this thread and she rightly called me a dumbass.

I remember a number of games getting away from Feliz a couple of years ago. He wasn't automatic like he was in his first year. Towards the end of the season it was a white knuckle ride when he would go into a game where the Rangers were only up by one or two. At least, I remember it that way. As far as predicting failure on a guy coming off of TJ surgery, I haven't changed my opinion from the beginning of last year. I don't think he will be successful as a starting pitcher.

Last year Ian's glove grew a hole in it, that was the PADMY reference. I'm hoping it was just a weird year and his glove will be back to normal this year. And I think we'd all like to see a few less pop up slump shouldered ABs.

Now that the Rangers have improved their pitching, "Get rid of Kinsler" is the new mantra of the KVIL Ranger fan. I don't get the logic. A 30 year old player had the best year of his career and was one of the best 2nd basemen in baseball in 2011 and, when he follows it up with a below average year (for him) in 2012, he's done. I had a friend tell me a few months ago that the Rangers were doomed if they couldn't figure out a way to trade him. :banghead:

Post subject:  Re: Rangers 2013

Last year everyone was guessing who would be traded: Profar or Andrus. I don't know why Ian can't be on the block as well.

As Fruit pointed out, Andrus is a Boris guy. Forget what I said about signing him long term, the Rangers will end up paying 25% more than his worth. Maybe they can get another pitcher for him to help make a run in the second half.

:babyarm: This attitude drives me crazy. I think shitheels like Evan Grant are to blame for this. Kinsler is know as a guy who doesn't care for or talk to the media so of course Grant craps on him. At the very same time Grant can't keep his tongue out of Face's asshole just because he gives good quotes. Fuck that and fuck him.

Mike Bacsik is on Fox 4 talking Rangers right now and just said that Nolan Ryan leaving is going to keep the team below .500 this year. The people that think that Kinsler sucks and the people that are butthurt about Nolan leaving should get together for happy hour and get in a fiery car crash on the drive home.

Author:  or somesuch [ Thu Mar 07, 2013 9:12 am ]
Post subject:  Re: Rangers 2013

The team is already put together for 2013. Whether Nolan leaves or not has little impact on their record. He would have had a better point if he said 2014.
