They won't get back next year. I still think Wash deserves a ton of the blame.

No blame today. They just got beat. He definitely made some questionable decisions yesterday, but Feliz pitched the 9th with a 2 run lead. That's really all you can ask for.

Not letting Feliz pitch two innings last night was Wash's worst call, IMO!

I can't help but ponder... Did Jerry Jones secretly buy the Rangers yesterday? It's the only thing that makes sense.

I also believe that the reason we made it all the way to game 7 was because Napoli was behind the plate. His ability to manage the pitching staff was a greater asset than his bat. If he had been in there for game 3 I think the Rangers would have won that game.

The Giants were the better team last year. I don't feel that way this time. Thats why it hurts so bad!

My mom's twin sister began following the Rangers at age 70. It was odd that this happened. Her kids didn't play baseball and she never cared for the game. But she started watching them and never missed a game on TV for the last couple of years of her life. She died in the spring of 2010. My mom lamented that her sister didn't get to see them finally make it to the World Series.

I wonder what my aunt would have thought about the events of the past couple of days.

Edit: I got the year wrong and changed it to 2010.

So what do you think about CJ? Think he will stay? Everyone says he will go to the west coast no matter what. Might be tough getting the numbers he wants with his poor performance in the post season.

16 wins, 200 IPs, 200 Ks is impressive. But he's such a flake. There's no salary cap, so there is no "overpaying" unless it prohibits them from signing other guys. I like him as a #2, but there is no #1 here. They are worse without him though. Not sure he has as big of a market as he thinks he does.

:babyarm: I have my doubts about dipping into the internal talent pool to replace a starter like they did with Cliff Lee. They were lucky this year and I'm not sure that works out as well as it did last time.

Not sure you can blame Wash. I can't see it working out all that different if he had managed differently. This one was lost on the field, not in his coke addled mind.

I avoided most things innerweb since Thursday night. It's kinda funny to go back and read the emotional roller coaster of game 6.

"Final, TEX@STL, 7: Layne misses 17 pitches, 14 of which benefit St. Louis"

Shows how lopsided the pitches were called. Was it the reason the Rangers lost? Dunno. Frustrating as hell though.

They should have taken care of business in game 6. Fucking Michael Young.

It was misplayed, but it was still a rope and a tough play. Should have been made, but he's not the goat. Young screwed up twice on easier plays than that. Not to mention the pitching staff broke the WS record for walks.

Broadcast teams on radio and TV will not change for next year. Thanks for not fucking with that, Nolan.

I found it interesting that it will be Eric's 18th year as lead broadcaster, 34th overall.

I still think they need to bring Lewin back. What the hell did he do to Nolan? There's gotta be a story there.

He had to take a lot of time off for football during the late part of the season and the playoff run. I'm not sure it's any more complicated than that. Or TAG hated him. Or the bullpen catcher saw him horsing around in the shower with a kid. Fuck, I don't know.

Jesus during a 4 hour game your gonna wander a bit. Beats the fuck out of TAG lamenting about when he ran the team like it was their glory years.

I still say they got rid of the wrong person.

Verlander wins MVP. Mike Young had 1 first place vote ... from Evan Grant. WTF? I can't wait for his explanation.

1. Young
2. Verlander
3. Cabrera
4. Granderson
5. Ellsbury
6. Adrian Gonzalez
7. Bautista
8. Cano
9. Shields
10. Beltre

The Dallas writers think Young's poor fielding is being blown out of proportion. I say look at game 6.

"Embarrassing to vote a guy who hit .338, 106 RBIs, played three diff. INF positions and had at least 100 Abs in 3 key lineup spots MVP?"

Yes.

.338 - pretty fucking good, but who cares about AVG
106 RBIs - good, not great
three diff. INF positions - played them poorly
100 ABs in 3 lineup spots - Who gives a shit?

Young is the darling of the franchise and the writers think they'll be locked out of the locker room if they tell it like it is.

I don't think not voting Mike Young for MVP would get him locked out of the locker room.

Not even sure where I would vote Young among Rangers. Avg is an old timey statistic and RBIs is too, unless you judge them based on chances. Young is a liability in the field.
