I don't believe any rumors after I bought every rumor a couple of years back, but fwiw on Choo ... Shin-Soo Choo Rumors: Wednesday By Steve Adams [December 11 at 1:42pm CST] Reports yesterday indicated that both the Diamondbacks and Tigers are likely out of the Shin-Soo Choo sweepstakes (though I personally question whether or not the signing of Rajai Davis truly removes Detroit from the equation). The Rangers are still said to be in the mix, however. ESPN's Jerry Crasnick provided a rundown of potential Choo suitors yesterday, cautioning never to bet against Scott Boras. Here are Wednesday's Choo rumors... •The Rangers like Choo but not at his asking price, which Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram hears is $22MM annually (Twitter link). Nelson Cruz is a more viable option for Texas, Wilson adds. Earlier Updates •Bob Nightengale of USA Today has heard that Choo is looking for $140MM over seven years (Twitter link). Hardline said someone offered Cruz 5/75 and he turned it down. Does he not remember he got caught? It's all but guaranteed that his numbers will drop. He will regret not taking that deal. |

Sullivan According to a source, the Rangers have a seven-year offer on the table to free agent outfielder Shin-Soo Choo and he is giving it serious consideration. The offer is less than the $153 million deal that Jacoby Ellsbury signed with the Yankees this off-season but is still strong enough for Choo to consider. The Rangers had a two-hour meeting with Choo prior to the Winter Meetings and gave him a strong sales pitch about coming to Texas.
