Dear Mr. Whistle,

Your thoughts on Santana going to the Mets instead of the Yankees?

Is it me, or does it sound like Ron Washington has no clue what he is talking about when he's interviewed? Baseball interviews may be the most boring interviews ever. with the exception of gay gabe.

While I'd love to see Santana in pinstripes, I didn't like any of the trades floated out there. I'm glad they never pulled the trigger on him at that price. Glad the Sox didn't get him either. Otherwise, it's a great deal for the Mets since they didn't give up any of their top prospects to get him. Twins = swindled.

Damn, Minnesota should have made the Phil Hughes deal when they had the chance (if it was legit). One good prospect, one okay prospect, two guys who are back of the rotation guys at best. Honestly, if I'm Minnesota I'd rather have Santana for a year and see what can happen and lose him in FA, than to make this deal.

They would've been better hanging onto him all year and getting the 2 draft picks than what they got from the Mets. Now they're left with a 4th place finish and shit prospects.

Looks like it's gonna be another long season for your Texas Rangers. I read where the Ranger's starting pitching has been rated last in the American League!

Hopefully the youngsters will play well or at least play with some enthusiasm so that we can at least enjoy watching the games a little. I know I'd enjoy watching the games more if those douches in the front office would just go ahead and implement my idea of a lap dance section. They could combine it with the all you can eat section and market it as the Roman Orgy section! Yeah, that would be fun.

Funny you should mention that...I just got the 2008 Group Discount mailer yesterday.

I can get tickets in our usual section for only $3 if we go on a Super Saver night. Minimum purchase is 20 tickets though, so if there's enough interest, I'll put it together. Lemme hear from ya.

Your Texas Rangers are really planning to stick it to all the local Yankee and Red Sox fans this year. All home games against them are considered to be "Premier" games and actually cost more than the normal gate price. $19 instead of $15 for our usual section. Also, the Sox don't roll through here until Sept. 5-7 and the Yanks don't play here until Aug. 4-7.

The best deal of the year is to go on Wed. April 9th against Baltimore. It's a Super Saver game so the tix only cost $3 and it's a dollar hot dog night to boot. This is the only time the entire season that these two things happen on the same night.

There are a lot of Half Price nights on Fridays and Saturdays in the first part of the season too. We can get tix for only $7.50 for these games. Opponents on these nights include Toronto and Minnesota in April, and Oakland and Houston in May.

No shit. The #13 starting rotation against the #14 starting rotation. Should be a wild ass 12-10 type of game.

Watson not considering Clemens for U.S. roster for Beijing Games

Why would you consider somebody who isn't even playing currently?

Piazza retires.

The only thing that makes this interesting is he and Clemens could get elected to the HoF in the same year.

Saw a commercial between innings on mlb.com. They showed Willie Mays and mentioned the date he hit his 600th HR, then did the same for Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron. Then Ken Griffey, Jr. came on. His 600th? Keep watching. Best part about it is they told Barry Bonds to suck it.

Nope. Of course, since he got it with the Rangers, it could be that everyone just forgot about it.
