3 (for the division) I believe it’s 2 for a playoff spot. |

They're averaging 1500 less butts than they did last year, and it's been trending down for a while. They're averaging under 25k/game, something they haven't done since 2008, and before that it was in 1988! I'm sure attendance wasn't the only factor in JD's firing, but I'd be shocked if it wasn't a sizable one. https://www.dallasnews.com/sports/range ... ince-2017/ |

The only way the Rangers don’t make the playoffs is Toronto wins at least 3 Houston wins exactly 2 Seattle sweeps Texas This puts Toronto at 90/91 wins and a a 3 way tie with 89 wins in the AL west, which gives Houston and Seattle the tiebreakers. Texas would have the tiebreakers against Toronto or Seattle individually, so Houston winning 1 or 3 would make Houston’s tiebreaker over Texas irrelevant. It’s just the weird 3 team tiebreaker that can fuck things up. So the above scenario will happen unfortunately. Also, bring back game 163. |

Musers have been talking the last couple of weeks about the Rangers being the best team in the league and that they're gonna win 90 games (maybe 100!!!) have had my eyes rolling so hard. It's like they don't remember this team's SOP is to be Dr Jekyl and Mr Hyde most years. Tear it up the first half of the season and then shit the bed after the All-Star break. What a couple of noobs. Welp, they got their 90 games, ran away with the division and are steamrolling into the playoffs, just like Craig and George said they would. |

The fact that they made it to 90 wins with the injuries and that abortion of a bullpen is a miracle. I'll take that over the bullshit of the last few years in a heartbeat. |

Wildcard series is in the books! Next is the dirty birds of Baltimore! This morning the Musers minus Junior plus Bob said the local tv viewership of Rangers games were up by 99% from last year. Sounds impressive, right? Not really when compared to a similar situation when the network was owned by Fox. In 2023 Rangers have a 1.41 rating vs a .71 rating for 2022. By contrast they had a 3.6 in 2010, up from a 2.7 in 2009. Makes a difference when people can actually watch the games. |

I gotta bad feeling about going up against Houston. Just hoping it goes to 6 or 7 and they don't lay down in 4. I love that it's looking like only 1 division winner is going to be left standing. The broadcasters hate it. Smoltz spent a lot of time bitching about how the wild card format puts the division winners at a supposed disadvantage. |

What a weird take. There are no disadvantages in the playoffs. You win or you don't. |

It’s not just Smoltz. That take is all over ESPN and the Athletic. I swear people were laughing at the Rangers for celebrating too much after clinching the playoffs, then coming into game 162 flat, losing the division and the bye. Now the bye is a disadvantage? |
