That twitch his right leg has when he realizes that ball is travelling slower than highway speed cracks me up.

Post subject:  Re: Rangers 2013

What exactly are those supposed to be showing us? That he threw a bunch of pitches to a guy? Sure, it looks cool, but if you wanna show something we can actually comprehend, maybe show a pitch-by-pitch so we can see how he worked the count and then fooled the batter with the final pitch.

Post subject:  Re: Rangers 2013

I don't think this was all the pitches at an at bat. It's a compilation of the different types of pitches he threw over the course of the game.

Ok then, that's acceptable.

But watch your ass!

The point is that he can throw all of those pitches with the exact same motion and release point. When you can throw 95 and 75 with the same motion and release point, you are good.

Thank you.

What Django said, plus the fact that the path of most of the balls are practically the same until the last second. The batter has to choose to swing before the ball breaks, and based on the path of the ball he has no idea which way it will actually break.

Here's what the guy that made it says:

"An experiment in showing a variety of pitch types in a unique way. Used 5 pitches from last night; a 97 mph 4 seam fastball, 96 mph 2 seam fastball, 85 mph slider, 78 mph slider with a different grip that is more vertical, and a 64 mph slow curve.
He also throws a cutter and splitter/changeup regularly but I figured those would make it too messy.
I tried to use pitches that started in a similar location and had the movement take them away rather than say an inside fastball and outside slider, though you can tell that wasn't exact."

I went Fridee and the sawks fans had maybe one chance to stand up and cheer. It was early on in the game for some meaningless play. It was a nice feeling knowing there were a bunch of douches sitting in the stands and sitting on their hands.

I went Saturday and the Sox fans were pretty quiet. I was far more annoyed at the Ranger "fan" behind me that spent a good half inning debating with his buddy about whether or not J.D. Drew was playing shortstop for Boston (it was Stephen Drew) and an entire Kinsler at bat telling his wife how terrible he is because "he always takes the first strike".
