Wives/ex-wives are off limits. When it comes to marriage, I don't kid around about that as evidenced by this wonderfully heartfelt post that you may fondly remember.

It would appear that children getting married is open game.

When Master P saw Dope Fiend Willie in the Cadillac why did P pull the gat on him? He offers you a ride and you put a gun to his head? I always thought that was fucked up. Willie should have left him for the whitefolks.

Is "playoff baseball" a legitimate reason to try to postpone jury duty? :(

So three of my staff played an April Fools Joke on me.

The plan was for the pregnant one to tell me she has to go on bed rest immediately. She wasn't at work yet, so I went to talk to the other two, I told them I think she's pulling an April Fools Day prank and they told me that's pretty insensitive and that I'm going to feel bad if I wind up being wrong. So I dropped it because I'm a man (not 40 yet) and I don't know shit about sensitivity.

Anyway, the pregnant one comes in and she looks really sad (great acting) and so I figure I need to get a temp in to replace her. I e-mailed HR to put something out on the job site. Then all three come back about 30 minutes later and tell me they got me and it was just a prank.

Was I pranked? To me, if I sniff something out, you can't use the pregnant card to get me off track, but I'm open to your thoughts, forum.

You should tell her HR has already put her on extended leave and will need a note from her doctor before she can return to work. Rules is rules, bitch.

All of you are correct. Dumb and lame.

I like to laugh as much as the next guy, but I'm not a big fan of April Fool's stuff.

Have any of you ever had a prospective employer make a contingent offer with one of the items being "we want to contact your current employer?" I'm all about the other stuff but hung up on the contacting the current employer piece. Fuck that noise. It caught me off guard in the moment so they aren't aware of my angst. The offer is supposed to come tomorrow, btw. I will be accepting answers until then. Tia. :babyarm:

I know next to nothing about this so take it with a big dose of salt, but I've always heard that your current company can't verify anything about you other than employment dates and titles. Most companies won't do more than that for fear of lawsuits. Do they just wanna contact the company or do they wanna talk to your boss? Let them talk to HR, but don't give your boss any inkling that you're looking for other work.

I have worked for bosses who would get pissy if they found out you were looking. Your ass would be in the doghouse from now on. Be careful.

Once I got into the education business, I actually wanted them to know I was looking. I would wear dress clothes in the spring every once in a while just to make them wondering if I was interviewing that day.

Because they want you to buy the Fire TV thing.

I called the Samsung support line. The professional tech walked me through the technical troubleshooting process and the situation is resolved. Step 1: unplug the tv; step 2: wait sixty seconds; step 3: plug the tv back in. Presto, Amazon works. Boy, those dudes are sharp as tacks. The hardest part was trying to read the model # info of the back of the tv. Even with my readers I struggled. I watched Seven Pyschopaths last night. Pretty good little movie.

That's also the solution for clearing the cache on your Roku.

I been meaning to ask you fellas with your fancy ass smart TV if the smart stuff has gotten better? I got the kids some cheaper samsung smart TVs for their rooms but they complain that accessing Netflix and stuff is really slow. I'll one day upgrade the living room TV to 4k smart guy bells n whistles but I want everything to be working ultra slick before I do.

I don't even use the "smart" aspect of my smart TV. HBO Go was a nightmare (the app is pretty bad too, but once you get a show going, it's fine.). Netflix worked fine. I said fuck it and bought a chromecast and I just stream my phone to it. The picture is unaffected.

Why give Samsung all your info? Just more inbox bullshit. I got a Roku3 that does everything the Samsung service and apps do.

What the hell did we do before every activity in this world involving children had to be "nut free"?
