I feel my way around to the bathroom and just sit down to pee.

Here is my growing old tale:

I don't drink a lot of water. A little during a workout, maybe once or twice a week at lunch but that's about it. What do you think is in Coke, wine, Crown, or beer? Last time I looked its not a solid. I don't really have a point here. Just saying I don't drink of lot of plain 'ol boring water, which may or have contributed to the story I'm about to tell.

Just a few background deets:

Went to Austin a few weeks ago. I think the whole time there I took a few drinks of water at night. Other than that, it was beer or Crown. Felt good going down to.

Got and back and a day or so later, complained to the wife that I had some neck pain that led to some minor headaches which is weird for me in that I never get headaches. I chalked it up to sleeping funny and figured some Advil would cure everything. BTW, I'm not building up to the fact that I have aids so please don't be expecting a huge pay off. Just sharing my growing old story.

So last Wednesday I had a day trip where I had to get up at 4am for a Southwest flight. Still having neck pains and some pressure behind the eyes but still taking Advil. Trip went great and capped off the flight with a double Jack on the rocks but I remember there was this dude behind me coughing up all kinds of SARS and what not.

So the next day, last Thursday, I wake up and feel all kinds of achy and weak and stuff. Took my temp rectally a couple of times just for good measure and got it up to 102. Once I got the kids off to school I went back to bed and couldn't get enough blankets on me. I was like wtf, do I have the flu? That's why I got the shot. I could only manage to shuffle to and from the bed and the bathroom and kitchen where I was thirsty like a mofo. I've always heard to drink plenty of fluids in situations like these so I kept drinking as much as I could. Took Advil on schedule and got plenty of rest.

So the next day I felt tons better and could actually walk around and stuff but I still had headaches and felt pretty week. I figured by Sat I would would be pretty much back to normal but in the back of my mind I was getting worried about this neck pain and headaches.

Sat was slightly better and I decided to ween myself off of Advil. Went to House of Somey for the kids to play with each other and I even through back a few glasses of wine. Figured I was finally getting back to my normal self. Still felt to ill to play golf so with me, you KNOW I had to have been sick.

Sunday came and the weakness and headaches persisted. I told the wife I was going to the doctor tomorrow if I don't get any better.

Went to the doctor today with a low grade fever and they told me I must have had a viral infection. Viral infection, unlike bacterial infections, are the ones you just have to fight though. They gave me a steroid shot and and B12 shot. Cleared up the pain pretty good. The B12 shot has given me tons of energy so right now I'm feeling pretty good. Not sure what to do if the pain comes back. Was wondering if I need to see a chiro or something.

Sucks getting old.
